What would you do to secure your dream home?

Moray McLaren and Debbie Carrigan warm up with coffee after camping out all night to secure dream home in Edinburgh

One family set up camp overnight to be sure they were first in line to purchase the last remaining townhouse at The Green at Longstone.

Debbie Carrigan and her partner Moray McLaren had lost out on securing one of the townhouses after Phase 1 sold out within a few days of our show home opening in February.

“We had set our heart on one of the townhouses because but weren’t quick enough off the mark,” said Debbie. “When I heard that one of the sales had fallen through and the very house we wanted would be up for grabs from 11 o’ clock the next morning I sent my son round to make sure we would be first in line. We then drove over with camping chairs and spent the night taking it in turns to snooze in the car.”

Debbie and Moray’s persistence paid off and they were successful in securing their dream home.

“We were over the moon when Jo the sales executive confirmed the house would be ours when she opened up. She even brought us bacon rolls and coffee as she knew we had been there all night,” said Debbie. “We might seem crazy, but for us it was worth it. It is an end terrace 3 bedroom home over three floors and ticks all the boxes. Because there are two sitting rooms it is perfect for a family like ours where the kids are older and have their friends over. To say we’re delighted is an understatement.”

Debbie and Moray will move into their new home with children Toni (14) and Connor (20) in the autumn. Register now to be among the first to know when prices for phase two are released.
